Safe Homes
Ray’s Place provides a safe environment where there is a reassurance of protection from the outside world. Each resident will be supported by staff to focus on the goals that are important to the resident.
Ray's Place has a rich and meaningful history that dates back to 2004, when a group of individuals from various backgrounds and professions came together with a shared goal of making a positive impact on the lives of young people in the foster care system in Fairfax County. Among these individuals were foster parents, educators, and clergy members, all driven by a deep sense of passion and dedication to supporting and empowering the youth in their community.
Youth
Education
We encourage continuous training and educational opportunities and show a clear path through education to build dreams. Local training sites and potential colleges will work with the youth and help them to gain their academic credentials.
Over the years, the collective efforts and unwavering commitment of these board members have been instrumental in shaping the vision and mission of Ray's Place. Their firsthand experiences working with young people in the foster care system have provided them with valuable insights into the challenges and needs of these individuals, inspiring them to create a safe and nurturing environment where youth can thrive and reach their full potential.
Health &
Wellness
We provide information on wellness and how to stay healthy. Staff are prepared to address crisis situations and provide crisis intervention materials and training.
Through their combined expertise and collaborative spirit, the board members have laid the foundation for Ray's Place, a facility that serves as a beacon of hope and support for youth in need. By offering a range of services and resources tailored to the unique needs of foster youth, Ray's Place aims to provide a holistic approach to care that addresses not only the practical needs of young people but also their emotional well-being and personal growth.
Life Skills
Many of the educational opportunities include how to manage and maintain their income, basic skills on cooking and basic living skills, writing resumes and how to approach job interviews, and more.
As Ray's Place continues to evolve and expand its reach, the legacy of its founding members lives on, serving as a testament to the power of community, compassion, and collective action in making a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth.

Ray’s Place is prepared to provide the following services to the growing market. We will offer community-based services to youth such as job-enhancement skills, resume building, independent living skills, cooking, financial management, Bible study, mentoring and recreational services and activities. Youth will have the opportunity to engage in exercises that expand their potential and growth and identify future aspirations and goals.
